UPCOMING EVENTS
Houston Education Event:
Strategically Networking for Success
Please Join TXWSW for an evening with Christine Spray, President, Strategic Catalyst.
Why is making and maintaining relationships important? Some people see a large network in terms of knowing many people or being known by many people is worth achieving by itself, but growing your network constantly is completely worthless. It's what you make out of the relationships you have and knowing which new relationships will be valuable to you. The most successful people are those that know it's more about others.

How are you allocating your time at home and the office? Are you getting the results you want for the time and energy extended? Are you having fun in any segment of your life? Is there something you want that is eluding you?
It's risky to have all of one's eggs in one basket, according to executive search consultant Nancy Keene. A byword of career planning is to network before you need to. And advancement often requires relationships and outreach in industry circles beyond one's immediate department
It might be time to re-evaluate your portfolio. The key is to find The Perfect Fit of initiatives that work for you - from both a personal and career standpoint. (Men have been doing it for years!)
Join us on for a lively session of interactive exercises, sharing and strategies.
Parking:
Enter the parking garage from the Ross side of the building (Pearl & Ross) and park on level 3. Take the garage elevators up to the ground level and switch to the elevator bank that will take them to the 10th floor. Parking will cost $1.

Houston Education Event
Ryan Crane, CFA, CIO Stephens Investment Management
Please join us for a presentation on Behavioral Finance presented by Ryan Crane, CFA, CIO Stephens Investment Management. Behavioral Finance is a relatively new field that layers the study of psychology on top of economic theory.
|
|
Human nature and the psychology of investing cause individuals to make bad decisions. Understanding these behavioral biases will help you overcome these tendencies and become a better investor, and perhaps even exploit inefficiencies created in the market by others' irrational behavior. This discussion will be interactive with the audience, and it will provide a case study on how even professional investors fall into these psychological traps. Although Ryan will center his discussion on investments, the concepts can be applied to decisions we make every day.
